The holiday season

Happy holidays from EF! Now is the time for your family and exchange student to embrace the true meaning of cultural exchange by sharing traditions and creating new memories together. We asked some of our experienced host families advice on how to make the most of the holiday season. Hear their tips below!

Here are a few tips and ideas for a lovely holiday season

  • Embrace your family's holiday traditions together, like decorating the Christmas tree or baking holiday treats.
  • Go on an adventure. Does your town have a tree lighting ceremony? How about a ski mountain or ice skating rink?
  • Have your exchange student prepare a holiday dish from home that they usually eat this time of year. You may find that your culinary traditions are more similar than you think!
  • Countdown to midnight with your student on New Year's Eve.
